What is the Relationship Between Drugs and Alcohol and Homicide?

A 2010 study showed that over 50% of homicide offenders were under the influence of drugs or alcohol. In over 25% of the cases, more than one substance was detected. Almost 40% of offenders were under the influence of alcohol, and the most common drugs used when committing homicides were cannabis and opiates.
