What is Neural Therapy?

Neural therapy is used to alleviate pain. It is delivered by way of an injection to eradicate discomfort and it is commonly administered for scar-related deep tissue injuries. This procedure originated in Germany, where procaine and Novocain were initially used as medications. Neural therapy is similar to trigger-point injections, but it can also be used for other types of medical issues including bowel problems, menstrual difficulties, and even allergies. When the treatment is used to combat pain associated with these conditions, acupuncture methods are used along with pain medication.

In the early 1800s scientists used cocaine as an anesthetic as well as a pain reliever. Surgical wounds and inflamed tissues seemed to heal faster if no pain was present. Although this drug did take away pain, physicians soon realized that cocaine was a highly addictive substance. Novocain and procaine were made from cocaine, but they did not have the same addictive qualities. They were then used in place of cocaine as a safer and more effective alternative.

Although neural therapy is used to combat tissue pain, it is also used for eliminating deep nerve pain and damage. This treatment is referred to as a nerve block because it stops pain in the arms, legs, and lower back. These ganglion blocks work by intercepting pain from the central nervous system, from glands, and from deep tissue injuries. In this case, pain medications are injected directly into the nerve for faster relief. Lidocaine is another pain-reducing derivative of cocaine, which is given as part of neural therapy to eliminate the discomfort of certain cancers and severe, chronic pain.

In some cases, neural therapy can alleviate nausea and other symptoms that accompany a migraine headache.

Certain medical conditions can be cured by using neural therapy and injecting procaine into a specific area. For example, this therapy can be used used as a remedy for persistent migraine headaches. It can also eradicate any symptoms that accompany migraines. Dizziness, nausea, and depression can also disappear after the headache has been relieved. Procaine can be used as a pain reliever as well as an anesthetic.

Neural therapy works by stopping toxins and abnormal minerals from penetrating a live cell. This also stops bioelectric disturbances that can cause pain. After the cells are damaged, neural therapy helps to restore them so they can function normally again. Careful considerations are also made to ensure that no other connecting nerves are damaged or produce pain due to neural therapy because every cell within the body is connected through the central nervous system.
