What Is Neem Repellent?

Neem repellent is a type of insect repellent that is made from neem oil. This oil is extracted from the seeds of the neem tree, which is native to India. Unlike some other types of insect repellents, neem insect repellent does not contain any toxic chemicals, and it can be applied safely to children and pets. In fact, neem oil is also sometimes used for dry skin and as an antibacterial agent. This type of repellent can either be purchased or made at home.

The neem tree is a member of the mahogany family. It is native to many parts of India, and it can be found growing in sub-tropical and tropical areas. Oil can be extracted from the crushed seeds of the neem tree, which are located in the center of the fruit. This oil is often used to produce insect repellent.

DEET is often considered the most effective insect repellent ingredient. Unfortunately, this chemical can be toxic, especially in large doses. It can be absorbed through the skin, and it has been linked to health problems such as skin irritation or an increased risk of seizures.

Neem repellent, on the other hand, is a natural insect repellent that doesn't contain any harsh chemicals. It can safely be applied to both adults and children. Some individuals also use neem insect repellents on their pets.

In addition to repelling insects, neem oil is sometimes used for dry skin.

Many people will apply neem repellent to keep mosquitoes away. Neem insect repellent, however, is very effective at keeping other insects away as well, including ticks, gnats, horseflies, and fleas. Protection from these insects is important, since many of them carry diseases like malaria and Lyme disease.

Besides being an effective insect repellent, neem has a number of other benefits as well. Neem oil can be applied to very dry skin to moisturize it. It also has mild antimicrobial properties, and it can be used as a disinfectant for minor cuts and scrapes. Some studies have also shown that applying neem oil to acne blemishes can help them heal faster.

Although it is typically easier to purchase commercial neem repellent, some individuals may wish to make their own. To make this type of insect repellent, neem oil can be used alone or with other natural insect repellents, such as lemongrass or clove oils. These oils can then be added to a spray bottle containing a mixture of warm water and a small amount of vinegar or alcohol. Pure aloe vera gel can also be used as a base for a neem repellent.

I've used a neem repellent a few times outdoors for mosquitoes. We have a river right behind our home, and it's full of mosquitoes in the summer. It's difficult to spend time outside in the evening and night without some sort of protection.

I'm happy with the effectiveness of neem repellent. It does repel the mosquitoes. The only issue is the scent of neem. It doesn't smell very good. I guess that's partly how it repels the mosquitoes. But the scent can be bothersome, especially when it's sprayed to cover all of the arms and legs.

@donasmrs-- That's true. Neem repels all pests, including ticks. I use a mixture of water and neem oil for my horses. I spray their tails with it to keep off ticks and other pests that try to get on them. It works very well. I haven't seen a single tick in the past month.

I use neem oil on trees and plants in my garden that are affected by pests like aphids. Neem repels all pests and allows trees and plants to flourish. It's a wonderful alternative to chemical treatments and repellents. It's safe and it doesn't cause harm to to plants, animals or humans. Chemical repellents are also dangerous for humans and animals. They can also enter the soil and end up in ground water.

I highly recommend it for those who want to protect their garden in a safe, effective and environmentally friendly way.
