What is Lypossage™?

Lypossage™ was created by Charles W. Wiltsie III in 1999. Essentially, it is a type of non-surgical cellulite treatment that is based upon massage techniques meant to tighten the skin and strengthen muscle tone. In addition to massage, lymphatic drainage and myofascial release methods are used. Lypossage™ clinics have been established all over the globe, and the entire procedure proves to be immensely popular.

A Lypossage™ machine works by moving around lymphatic fluids that can be found all over the human body. This fluid is largely responsible for cellulite and fatty deposits. By applying pressure to these areas, the fluid begins to break up. The creators of Lypossage™ claim that this treatment will effectively eliminate cellulite, and tighten muscles by lifting and lowering skin.

The Lypossage™ treatment targets three specific areas of the body that are split into zones. The first zone, Zone I, involves the lower body. This includes the buttocks, hips, lower abdomen, and thigh area. The second zone, Zone II, is focused upon the upper body. Areas such as the arms, back, and upper abdomen are considered part of Zone II. The last zone, Zone III, is concerned with the neck, head, and face.

Overall, the Lypossage™ therapy process takes six weeks to complete. Each session, there are 18 sessions total, lasts for thirty minutes. Most people do not see the results of this treatment until the tenth session. Results vary from individual to individual, though most patients do see a change in their overall appearance. While this form of skin tightening treatment may be effective, it is important to seek out a licensed therapist prior to enrolling in any sessions.

Unlike other treatments, this treatment must be performed by a specialized massage therapist. Those considering this type of treatment will receive a free consultation where specific areas of the body can be discussed. Following the initial consultation, all patients may then enroll in a treatment plan. While there is no specific diet and exercise routine given to patients, it is recommended that all patients attempt a healthy diet before and after treatment.

To find a licensed therapist, look at the official Lypossage™ website. On this site, you will find a list of therapists in your area. Treatment costs may vary from place to place. Also, keep in mind that all reputable therapists of this sort will provide a free consultation. Those that do not provide a consultation may not have your best interests at heart.
