What is Facial Reflexology?

Facial reflexologists use their fingertips to treat the face. The facial reflexology therapist typically uses a light touch while working on the face or head to enable lymph drainage, relaxation, trigger point stimulation (TPS), and meridian point stimulation (MPS). After that, the therapist touches the reflex points on the face to start the process of healing throughout the entire body.

Face reflexology combines the use of acupressure, Chinese energy meridian theory, and ancient Andean maps of the human body. The reflexology treatments on the face usually result in total relaxation. When total relaxation occurs, it improves the body's functioning in several ways.

For instance, it improves blood circulation and improves lymph circulation. Organs and glandular aspects are improved. The nerve supply going to the cells also improves drastically. This means the cells are able to get cleaned and able to get more nourishment.

Also, facial reflexology enables immune system function to improve. It enables the improved uptake of nutrients from foods. Also, it enables toxins to be eliminated and makes the central nervous system more calm.

Face reflexology rebalances body chemistry as a whole. It reduces pain and stress and improves general health. In fact, for more than 4,000 years, reflexology has been used and continues to be a widely used treatment.

Of note, there are many different systems of reflexology. For example, within Chinese facial reflexology, reflexology is thought of in terms of microsystems, and the whole body can be addressed by working on just the nose alone. In Vietnamese facial reflexology, the face is divided into grids and there are more than 500 points within the grids that can be massaged.

Although focused on the face, facial reflexology may be used to treat pain in multiple areas of the body.

If one seeks an appointment with a facial reflexologist, things will typically proceed as follows. During the initial appointment, the facial reflexologist will take one's health history. Additionally, facial analysis will occur so that one's health needs can be determined and treatment plans can be developed.

Reflexology treatments, typically 50 minutes in length, will usually start with the therapist doing light stimulation of acupuncture points on the face. The purpose of this is to stimulate the nerves while also increasing circulation of lymph and blood to the face. After that, specific treatment procedures are done depending on what one's particular health needs are.

True Linda121, it’s a magic treatment! I had reflexology treatment where I had facial, foot and hand reflexology. After the treatment I could feel the well being throughout my body. My mom was also cured from migraines after having the facial reflexology. I strongly recommend everyone to have reflexology at least once in their life; it’s a great feeling and is also a good way to stay healthy.

Yeah, face reflexology really works. It provides relaxation, which improves the overall well-being of the person. I was cured of a migraine after having face reflexology. It also firms facial muscles and prevents wrinkles. It’s really a magic treatment.
