What is a Clevis Pin?

Clevis pins are a form of fastener used in a variety of different applications. The configuration of the clevis pin makes it possible to turn or rotate the different components, making it relatively easy to position the pin and secure it with the use of different types of pins and shackles. Because the clevis pin can be used as a securing device in so many different applications, the pin comes in a variety of sizes. Larger versions are employed in construction settings, as well as when used for rigging on a sailboat, or the rigging on a team of farm animals.
