Browsing through a tractor salvage yard is a lot like walking through a huge outdoor flea market. The difference is that the salvage yard is loaded with all sorts of parts and accessories that can be used to make your old tractor run like new once more. Here are a few examples of what you can find as you work your way through the tractor graveyard.

One of the greatest assets found in this type of salvage yard is engine and transmission parts. The yard is an excellent source for used tractor parts that fit most of the prominent makes and models in the world of farm equipment. Everything from radiators to oil pans to filtering systems can be harvested for renewed use with John Deere, Farmall, and other tractor equipment. All that is required is for the buyer to take along tools to extract the parts they need and pay for them at the front gate.

Along with used tractor parts that go under the hood, there are also perfectly good tractor seats, steering columns, windshields and other tractor salvage parts. Priced to move, obtaining replacement items from the tractor salvage yard is much cheaper than ordering replacements from the manufacturer. In addition, you can find fenders, running boards, and other essentials for tractors that are no longer in production, which means you don’t have to settle for replacement parts that are generic and possibly inferior.

Even such key items as tires, wheel rims, and axles can be found at a tractor salvage yard. As with other key parts, parts of this nature are usually priced much lower than ordering new replacement parts, and are likely to last just as long. It is also possible to locate and extract parts such as dashboards, glass panels for the enclosed cab, and air conditioning equipment for extremely low prices.

Accessories and related farm machinery can also be purchased at a tractor salvage yard. Attachable equipment like rotor tillers, balers, and harvesters also find their way into the yard and often can be made usable with relatively little effort. While it may take a little more digging to find gems in this category, the effort is often well worth it.

It is important to note that many yards offer a membership plan that provides additional benefits to those who sign up. By paying an annual membership fee, it is possible to have unlimited access to the tractor salvage yard, as well as enjoy discounted pricing on any parts that are harvested. For farmers that operate larger farms, the cost of membership is easily offset by the savings realized by utilizing salvaged components.

I am looking for a part for a john deere manure spreader. I do not know the year. It is old. The gear is the one on the back that carries the chain. The part number is 4381-sc. Please let me know if any one can tell me where I can get one.
