Since 25 November 1790, Trenton has remained New Jersey's capital city, incorporated with Trenton Township on 13 November, 1792. Trenton is located in the middle of the state of New Jersey. The city is noted as the birthplace of David Dinkins, who was the first black mayor of New York City from 1990 to 1993.
