How do I Choose the Best Olive Body Scrub?

Choosing the best olive body scrub is a process that involves weighing the differences between the range of products available on the market. It is important to understand what body scrubs do, how the size of the exfoliating granules affect the use of a scrub as well as the price range of the exfoliating scrubs that are available. By doing research online, shopping in stores and testing products, you can ensure that you choose a good olive body scrub that will fit your needs and your budget.

Before choosing any type of scrub, it is important to know what is is intended to do. Exfoliating scrubs are used to slough away dead skin cells to reveal the fresh skin underneath. Exfoliation can be accomplished with a chemical exfoliator that contains fruit acids or a scrub containing a manual exfoliator, such as a brown sugar body scrub, salt body scrub or olive body scrub.

Dead skin cells can clog pores, can cause skin to look ruddy and uneven and can ultimately cause blemishes. Using a natural body scrub, such as an olive body scrub, can help to alleviate these symptoms, thus giving skin a renewed appearance. Although many people tend to shy away from products that contain oils, olive oil body scrubs actually are quite nourishing for skin and even help skin maintain its natural balance.

When choosing a manual olive body scrub, it is important to consider the size of the exfoliating granules contained in the product. Smaller granules are acceptable for sensitive skin, but you generally should look for a scrub with larger granules when you desire to exfoliate rough skin, such as that on your elbows and knees. An olive body scrub generally contains granules of crushed olive pits that are intended to act as an exfoliating agent. The scrub also can contain olive oil, which acts as a moisturizer to soften the skin.

There are a wide variety of olive exfoliating scrubs on the market, so you likely will find products available at a wide range of prices. Keep in mind that the most expensive olive body scrub is not necessarily better than similar products that cost only a few dollars. Some specialty stores and high-end brands offer body scrubs containing olives or olive oil, but you also can find comparable products at your local drug store. In order to choose the best olive body scrub for you, do some research online, read product reviews and test a variety of products, if possible.

The only thing I look for in an olive body scrub is a tube container. I hate body scrubs in jars, they're so difficult to use.

@SarahGen-- Usually when pits and shells are used to make a body scrub, they are finely ground. So it should not irritate your skin. I actually love body scrubs with ground shells because they exfoliate very well.

Olive body scrubs are my favorite. I also use it for the moisturizing effects of olive oil. The only thing I don't like about an olive body scrub is that sometimes it smells very strongly like olives. Not all products are the same though, so if you can smell the product before purchasing, that would be good.

Has anyone used a body scrub that contains crushed olive pits and olive oil? Does it work well?

I came across this product at the mall and wasn't sure what to think of it. Olive pits sound very abrasive and I'm always scared about irritating my skin. I do want to try a body scrub with olive oil though. I've been hearing so much about the benefits of olive oil for skin. I have used an olive oil body butter in the past and it was wonderful. I have dry, flaky and dull skin and I desperately need a good body scrub.
