I have found that the perfect plus size little black dress for me is a convertible dress.
It's basically a flared skirt, which does come to just above my knees and has two long strips of fabric attached to the bodice which I can arrange to look however I like.
I can wear it as anything from a halter top, to a sweetheart neckline. And the strips can be bound around my waist which nips it in a little bit, without bulking it out like a belt can tend to do.
I would recommend this option to anyone.
They can be quite reasonably priced as well.
Don't forget to try and walk around a little bit in the cute little black dress to check the fit. There is nothing worse than having a wardrobe staple which you wear all the time, and all the time you are having to yank it up or down.
One of my guy friends told me once that nothing is sexier than a woman who looks like she has forgotten what she's wearing. If you are constantly pulling at your clothes, you'll never be that woman!
