The prospective student will need to look at the curriculum offered by several schools before making a decision. Other factors which should be considered include the quality of the equipment and laboratory facilities available on campus and the accomplishments of the school’s alumni. A school known for preparing future dentists for lucrative and fulfilling careers is worth considering.

Before being allowed to practice dentistry, a graduate of a dental school must successfully pass licensing exams required in the state, province or territory where the dentist will be working. The exact requirements vary, depending on the jurisdiction.
