How Busy Were the World Trade Center Towers?

The World Trade Center Towers in New York City had an average of 70,000 visitors each day, before their destruction in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The North Tower and South Tower each were the tallest buildings in New York City at 110 stories tall, and were home to 430 companies. Between the two towers, around 35,000 employees resided in the office space. It was estimated that between workers and visitors, around 30,000 cups of coffee were served each day. Although the towers were mainly known for the 3,000 casualties that occurred on September 11, 2001, 17 babies had been born at the towers since its construction in 1973.
